Anantang, Jun 02 (KNO): Department of Pediatrics, Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag on Monday performed the First Double Volume Exchange transfusion on a 2.1 Kg Low birth weight new born baby with a serum Bilirubin of 30mg/dl.
The baby was having RH incompatibility with severe hyperbilirubunemia. The baby was discharged today on room air and oral feeds with a serum bilirubin of below 10 mg/ dl, a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads.
The Department of Pediatrics is thankful to Department of Transfusion Medicine and Director laboratories and his team for their support at arranging blood for transfusion and performing required investigations timely and swiftly.
Department is thankful to MS MMABM Dr Sanjeet Singh Risam and Deputy MS MCCH Dr Mushtaq for their support at every step, reads the statement, adding that the department is highly indebted to Principal and Dean, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb for leading from the front and for his guidance at every step.
